Caller ID Spoofing
Scammers are learning new ways to get your information every day. One of the latest is using Caller ID Spoofing. When you get a phone call, the caller ID may show our phone number BUT it is not Firefighters Credit Union calling, it is only made to look that way! We will never ask you for your social security number or your account number when we call you. Hang up and dial our number – don’t press redial.
When you call us, we use specific questions to verify we are speaking to you. Scammers can try to spoof your phone number to call in to us. Due to this technology it is very important we have a way to verify your identity over the phone.
